More business types are now able to list their products and services in a menu format right on their Google My Business Listing.
This was announced in the Google My Business help forum last week, to the excitement of many business owners.
Initially, only restaurants were able to make use of the ‘menu format’ in Google My Business, being allowed to list selected items from their food and drinks menu with prices attached. But this has now been opened up to service businesses as well, such as beauty salons and repair companies.
You can add your menu by clicking on the Info tab in Google My Business, although Google has made it clear that the menu option is only available for businesses listed in English.
Why should you care?
The new feature is another opportunity to improve your online GMB listing for whenever your brand name is searched, by showing potential customers exactly what’s on offer.
If a customer can see you offer the product or service they’re after from within the SERP, they’re much more likely to click through or get in touch with you.
It’s essentially another way to be a step above your competitors by making it as easy as possible for people to get the information they want, adding credibility and an improved user experience.
