Twitter is giving brands 4 new buttons that will allow people to open links, post pre-written tweets, follow brands and start a conversation from within a message.

Brands can add up to 3 of these buttons per message – see below – and they can prompt users to do things both within and outside of Twitter itself, like post a tweet or go to an external site.

Why Should You Care?

Not only will these buttons save you some character space, but they also make it easier for your users to complete whatever action you desire of them.

Here are some examples:

Send a Tweet: you can use this button to get people to quickly and easily share a branded message of your choosing with their followers.

Start a Conversation: brands can use this button to send people between different conversation threads. This will be particularly useful for brands that have different accounts or content curation accounts.

Follow: this is pretty self-explanatory. You can prompt people to follow you from your messages.

Link Buttons: the link buttons can be used to get people to follow a link. Yes, you could always post a link in your message on Twitter, but I think you’ll agree that the link buttons not only look better but also give you the chance to insert compelling CTA copy – never a bad thing.
