My "Why?"

I’m a recovering chartered accountant. I used to do consulting at an investment bank. Selling my soul. Back in 2007, I read a case study about a retailer who had closed his physical stores to sell online, primarily through Google. I could see the future. I resigned and started CleverClicks.

Career Highlight

Growing a digital marketing agency for over 17 years, with some of the highest client and staff retention rates around. I believe it’s because we fundamentally do what we say we will do, we truly care about relationships, and I’ve instilled a zero BS way of communicating with clients and the team. Some clients are still with us after 13 years.

My "Why?"

After 20+ years in digital, I realised my true calling wasn’t being in the band; it was conducting it. I thrive on bringing structure to activities, connecting the dots, and ensuring great work happens without a hitch.

Career Highlight

Back in 2000, I led the launch of our first eCommerce site. It brought in over £2 million in its first year and sparked a love of mixing strategy with real-world results (plus, it made for a great story at every meeting after).

Helping a non-profit, ACFS, who feed needy children in Johannesburg, achieve their revenue and fund-raising goals through digital marketing efforts, including setting up successful Google Ad Grant campaigns.

I would be working outdoors, my other passion is sport (specifically golf) and the outdoors.
